Nithin’s Macherla Niyojakavargam was released in theatres on 12th August amidst decent hype and a positive buss. The last two releases Bimbisara and Sita Ramam lifted the spirits of the industry and the positivity was at an all-time high.
Owing to this, Macherla Niyojakavargam had a decent opening day outing at the box office. It collected a decent 5.1 crores in share on the first day. But very soon, the reviews started pouring in and the negative word of mouth around the film led to Macherla’s eventual downfall.
After the promising first day, the day 2, day 2, and day 4 collections have been rather forgettable. In fact, Sita Ramam and Bimbisara are posting better collections on their 11th day than Macherla on Day 4. It has also not helped that Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2 has been unanimously receiving praise all over India, even in the Hindi belt.
Macherla Niyojakavargam has collected 8.75 crores at the box office, making it a huge disaster for all parties involved. The theatrical rights of the film are valued at 21 crores, which is impossible to recover.
The film also stars Krithi Shetty, Catherine Tresa, and a bunch of others. MS Rajashekar Reddy is the director of the movie. Swara Sagar is the music director.
