After dominating the box office worldwide with his directorial work, Jawan director Atlee is looking to win the Oscars. In a recent conversation with the media, he mentioned his desire to push his film to the prestigious Award. He made a joke about having a discussion with Shah Rukh Khan about it. However, the netizens surprised by Atlee’s remarks about submitting Jawan for the Oscars.
When asked if Atlee is now eyeing for Oscars, he said, “Of course, even Jawan should go, if everything falls in place. I think every effort, everybody, every director, every technician who is working in cinema, their eyes are on the Golden Globes, Oscars, National Awards, every award. So, definitely, yeah, I would love to take Jawan to the Oscars. Let’s see. I think Khan sir will watch and read this interview. I will also ask him over a call, ‘Sir, should we take this film to the Oscars?”
Jawan is a definitely big success, but it is not such a great content or technically superior film. It is just a regular commercial film and that is why the audiences are shocked after hearing these comments from Atlee. But if the film’s unit decides to send it anyway, they can try, but it will be very difficult for the film to gain anything out of it.
The emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in society is the focus of Jawan, a high-octane action thriller written by Atlee. Shah Rukh Khan plays the dual role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad in this story, which highlights social and political issues. Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi played the major roles in the film. In special cameo roles, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt are also present.
Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra have also appeared in other hey roles in the film. The first time Shah Rukh and Atlee collaborated was with Jawan.
