Mirzapur is a massively popular television series in India. Despite being a Hindi series, it is equally popular among Telugu audiences, particularly for its bold dialogue featuring cuss words. This crime-action thriller series has had two seasons so far and has received widespread critical acclaim from audiences.
As officially announced, a third season of Mirzapur is in production, with the lead cast returning. However, there’s a twist in the tale: Divyendu Sharma, the actor who played ‘Munna Bhaiya’, has permanently left the franchise, citing personal reasons. He stated that the darkness of the character is affecting his personality immensely. He went on to say that, at times, he felt suffocated playing ‘Munna Bhaiya’.
This is a huge blow for the franchise since ‘Munna Bhaiya’ is a celebrated character among fans and audiences in general. And it’s hard for any other actor to replace such an iconic role. It must be seen how the production company deals with this issue. Barring Divyendu, most of the series’ actors are reportedly returning for a third season.
