Andhra Pradesh I & PR Minister Perni Nani called for a meeting with theatre owners and distributors of West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur districts. Speaking to the delegation he informed them that the movie collections that the government collects through its portal will be immediately transferred to the distributors/exhibitors.
The theatre owners while welcoming this move also shared their challenges and limitations with the minister. Many theatres in the B and C centers do not have the necessary infrastructure to support online booking and movie collections are done manually. For this, the theatre owners requested the government’s supports.
Adding to this, theatre owners and distributors said that many centres are in long-term contracts with ticketing portals Book my Show and Just Tickets. The minister noted the issues and said that he will bring this to the Chief Minister’s notice and resolve them.
