Lal Salaam starring Rajinikanth became a box office dud. The film had Rajini doing an extended cameo appearance and was directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The film also had A. R. Lal Salaam became a box-office embarrassment for Rajinikanth. This was also his cameo appearance after Kuselan/Kathanayakudu. The film performed very minimal and fans too were disappointed with the film. Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth attributed the failure of the film to many reasons like important scenes being chopped and script changes after Rajinikanth’s inclusion into the film. But this didn’t go well with the fans.
The film also took many days to stream on OTT surprisingly. But at last, it will be streaming on Sun NXT from 15th April. On the work front, Rajinikanth is currently working for Vettaiyan and another untitled film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The first look poster of this untitled film was also released recently. Rajinikanth needs to bounce back with these films to come out of Lal Salaam’s effect. The film had grossed only 36 crores worldwide which is a shocking and disastrous number for Rajinikanth.
