Kushi, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha, was released last week with great anticipation and fan celebrations. Despite receiving mostly positive talk and decent reviews, the film has not consistently performed well across its 4 day run so far. However, the team of Kushi team is trying very hard to prove it a huge success.
The Kushi team looks so desperate to prove that the film is a big success. The makers have released the box office posters by hyping the numbers to 25 – 30% from the opening day itself, while on Monday the film completely crashed at the box office.
But the team held a big success meet last night and everyone said it is a massive blockbuster and the team is constantly trying to bring the USA numbers saying the film is a huge hit. Indeed, Kushi is a super hit in the USA but the same cannot be said about the Telugu states. Especially in Andhra Pradesh, all the buyers are expected to be losing more than 50% so definitely it cannot be called as a successful film.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film had a rather mixed performance in the Telugu states. In AP, the film had a decent first three days and Rs 9.5 crores as against a pre-release trade of Rs 25 crores. The Nizam region, on the other hand, showcased terrific performance and Kushi managed to collect a solid Rs 11 crores with the theatricals valued at Rs 15 crore.
