Jetlee is a comedy-action movie featuring comedian Satya and Rhea Singha, directed by Ritesh Rana, who is recognized for the Mathu Vadalara series. The film’s trailer sparked significant interest among viewers with its unique airplane setting and comic premise. Let’s see if Jetlee lives up to expectations in this review.

Story

The plot of Jetlee follows Prajapati (Ajay), a scamster targeted by a group’s extraction plan. Satya gets involved in an operation, causing chaos on a flight. The chaos uncovers his scam and the main culprits involved.

Performances

Satya plays the main role and carries the entire film on his shoulders, delivering some laughs with his impeccable comic timing. Rhea Singha is decent but does not leave much impact. Vennela Kishore is underutilized, while Ajay, Sudarshan, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Harsha Chemudu and others are alright.

Analysis

In Jetlee, Director Ritesh Rana focuses more on comic moments than on delivering a proper story. There is nothing wrong with the idea, and the film starts on a good note with a bank scam backdrop before moving to the flight setting.

The introduction scene of Satya and following scenes provide the required humor, but the film quickly falls into the boring zone. There is a constant effort to produce fun in every scene, but the effect is hardly there.

The interval and post-interval scenes where Satya falls from a plane and re-enters it mid-air do not impress due to ineffective visual effects. The second half also follows the path of the first half, with only some scenes working well. The hijack sequence and the bomb-diffusing scenes do not generate the intended humor except for a few bits. The film ends with an over-the-top song and an extended post-climax scene.

Positives

  • Satya’s Comic Timing
  • Comedy Scenes Here and There

Negatives

  • Irritating Scenes
  • Repetitive and Dragged Moments
  • Misses the Required Fun Flow
  • No Proper Usage of Other Characters

Jetlee Review – Final Verdict

Jetlee delivers the expected fun only in parts and emerges as a dragged and tiresome watch. Satya puts forth his utmost effort, yet the screenplay and direction do not help him. Despite the novelty of the airplane setting and Ritesh Rana‘s track record with Mathu Vadalara, this comedy-action attempt falls short of expectations.
