Funky, starring Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar, has struggled to impress audiences both in theatres and on OTT.
Directed by Anudeep KV and produced by Sitara Entertainments, the film released on February 13 during the Valentine’s weekend with decent expectations. However, it eventually failed at the box office and was declared a flop.
Vishwak Sen’s Statement Sparks Debate
During the teaser launch event of his upcoming film CuLt, Vishwak Sen addressed questions about the film’s failure.
The actor stated that he does not focus on outside opinions and added that for him Funky remained a hit and a good film personally.
The remark generated significant discussion at the time and has now resurfaced following the film’s OTT release.
OTT Response Also Turns Negative
Anudeep KV’s previous film Prince had also struggled at the box office but later gained appreciation from a section of viewers after its OTT release.
However, the situation appears different for Funky. The film started streaming on Netflix recently, but the response from OTT audiences has been largely negative.
Many viewers have commented that the film failed to entertain even on the digital platform.
Social Media Reaction Continues
With the OTT reception turning out to be disappointing as well, Vishwak Sen’s earlier statement calling Funky a “hit film for him” has once again become a topic of discussion among audiences and on social media.
The debate surrounding the film’s performance continues as viewers share mixed reactions online.
