Dhanush’s Sir, the Telugu version of Vaathi has been doing wonders in Telugu states. The film got off to a great start and opening collections enabled it to achieve breakeven in several territories in the initial few days.

The film even outperformed the Tamil version in several areas and emerged as another hit. Dhanush’s powerful performance and GV Prakash’s solid BGM helped the movie immensely in drawing crowds.

Surpassing everyone’s expectations, the film has crossed the Rs 30 crores mark which has now put Dhanush in an exclusive club of Kollywood heroes. So far very few Tamil heroes have managed the Rs 30 crores gross in Telugu states.

Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Vikram, and Raghava Lawrence are the only few who have managed this and now Dhanush has joined them. 30Cr is a very good number, especially for dub movies, and for Dhanush, this is truly sensational.

With its aggressive marketing, Dhanush’s Vaathi generated a lot of hype in Telugu states and was expected to do well. The makers even arranged paid premieres with huge faith in the film’s storyline.

Venky Atluri has directed this film which also stars Samyukta Menon, Samuthirakani, Hyper Aadi, and Sai Kumar among others. Sir has been produced by Sithara Entertainments and the music is scored by GV Prakash.
