The theater owners in the Telugu States are really struggling in this year’s summer, which is considered as the biggest season for movies. Because there are no big films released in this summer, and the recent movies have all had resulted in failures. Except Virupaksha, no movie has worked at the box office. Now Naga Chaitanya’s Custody is releasing on this weekend and the theater owners have put big hopes on this film, a good long run for this film is a much-needed thing for the theater owners now.
It is common in film industry that the results of a few movies will impact the result or business of the other movies. The same has happened with Custody, the upcoming film of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. The film team is busy in promoting the film and is just 3 days away from its theatrical release. However, the failure of the recent films seems to have impacted the film’s business.
As said above, excluding Virupaksha, all the April releases have turned as failures, so it has become a tough period for the buyers and Naga Chaitanya’s last film, Thank You also did not do well at the box office. Custody movie’s Andhra [6 Territories] business had started with 12 Crores Ratio, and then it came down to 10 Crores. Now, according to the latest reports, the final business of Custody has been done in 9 Crores ratio and the same change in business numbers has happened with the other territories as well.
Custody, is set to be released in theaters on May 12 and marks the first-ever collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Venkat Prabhu. The film also stars Krithi Shetty, Priyamani, Sampath Raj and Arvind Swami in crucial roles. It will also be dubbed and released in Hindi along with Telugu and Tamil.
The film will have its music and score composed by Illayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the cinematography is being handled by SR Kathir. Let’s hope that Naga Chaitanya’s Custody will be able to live up to the expectations of the theater owners and brings the much-needed relief for them.
