The Telugu Film Industry has been going through a tough time lately post the COVID-19 pandemic. Especially in the recent past, the medium budget/ small scale films have struggled to generate any interest among film fans. As a result of this, the theatrical market has seen a huge drop in collections.
The last few releases like Pakka Commercial, The Warrior, Thank You, Happy Birthday and Ramarao On Duty have been disastrous at the box office. Even good movies that generated a positive talk like Ante Sundaraniki crashed at the box office.
Now all hopes lie on Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sita Ramam. Both these films have generated a decent buzz among audiences thanks to the trailers. Both the films have also been promoted heavily with constant interviews.
The pre-release events of both the films were also massive successes. JR.NTR’s fiery speech at Bimbisara’s event and Prabhas’ speech at Sita Ramam’s pre-release function have raised the expectations from both the movies. Both Bimbisara and Sita Ramam’s Telugu version worldwide theatrical rights have been valued at 15 crores.
Bimbisara as well as Sita Ramam are both releasing tomorrow on 5th August in theatres. Both films need a solid 1 week run to achieve a clean hit status at the box office.
