RRR and Pushpa, both the films, have no need introduction to the Telugu Film audience. for that matter, both the films are very well known to the entire Indian film crowd as they have become Pan Indian blockbusters.
However, despite RRR and Pushpa being big pan-Indian blockbusters, if you look from the producers side they did not make any money with these movies.
RRR was supposed to release on January 8th 2021, but because of the reasons known to everyone, it had pushed to October 2021 and then finally it got released on March 25th 2022.
So with the continuous delays in the release date, RRR film’s budgets have increased and it’s not given the theatrical profit returns to the producers in expected range.
While after, the producer further spent some money for international promotions after the theatrical run finished. The same goes with Pushpa too.
Pushpa was made with a massive budget and the producer could not make the profits in Telugu States except for nizam area. Due to ticket prices issues in AP, the distributors too lost money and the producers had to refund some amount from their side.
Latest the Pushpa producers have spent 3 Crores for Russia release, but they got nothing in return from it.
But Mythri movie makers have a big jackpot in their hands with Pushpa 2, but if you consider only Pushpa part 1, then it has not provided any profits to the producers.
