James Cameroon’s magnum opus Avatar 2 was released amidst massive expectations and mostly positive premiere reports on 16th December. The film features a heavy dose of visual extravaganza and the audience world over was swept over by the stunning visuals from the world of Pandora. The audience felt that while the movie’s visual appeal was terrific, the film was slightly slower for their taste.
Avatar 2 started climbing up the collections ladder from Friday evening shows and on Friday it managed to collect more than it did on Thursday with 14Cr net. On Saturday, from morning shows onwards, the film witnessed a big jump and collected more than 20Cr net. Most of the territories collected double that of Friday and tomorrow the collections are expected to be much bigger. The film is expected to cross the 250Cr net mark by Sunday in India.
James Cameroon’s Avatar: The Way of Water is the second edition of the Hollywood blockbuster franchise that started with the 2009 smash hit. The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver in pivotal roles. Avatar: Way of Water will feature the same cast with the addition of Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh.
