Ahead of the release of Avatar: Way of Water later this December, the movie’s prequel Avatar was re-released on 23rd September. The movie opened to packed houses and the audience thronged the theatres to catch a glimpse of this visual wonder.
On Day 2, the movie fetched a solid Rs 3.68 crores nett all over India. The two-day collection of this action-adventure film stands at Rs 6.48 crores. On its release back in 2009, the epic sci-fi became the highest-grossing film of all time as well as the first to surpass $2 billion at the global box office.
The film starred Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver in pivotal roles. Avatar: Way of Water will feature the same cast with the addition of Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh and it will release on 16th December 2022.
