Arya’s new film Captain was released in theatres on 8th September and opened to disastrous collections at the box office. There were a decent amount of expectations from the film due to the unique concept but after the film, the audiences trashed the subject.
The film received unanimously negative reviews from critics and audiences alike. By the evening shows, the numbers in the theatres started dwindling. The film crashed on the opening day itself in both Telugu and Tamil also. On the second day, there is little to no revenue and Captain has proved to be a huge disaster.
Director Shakti Soundar Rajan is known for choosing out-of-the-box stories but perhaps, Captain should have stayed in the box. He is known for making the first zombie thriller in Tamil, the first space film, Tik Tik Tik as well as the first live-action film, Teddy, and now, the first creature feature. Although the other films had some positives to take away, Captain seems to be a total mess.
Apart from Arya, the other players include Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kavya Shetty, Simran, Harish Umman, and Raj Bharath among others.
