Hyderabad’s movie lovers have more good news. After the AMB Victory IMAX at RTC X Roads, the city is set to get another IMAX screen. Aparna Cinemas is planning a 12-screen multiplex at Wipro Circle, and it will include an IMAX screen.
Aparna Cinemas’ New Multiplex
- Location: Wipro Circle, Hyderabad
- Screens: 12
- Premium Format: IMAX
Built for the IT Corridor
Wipro Circle sits right in the heart of Hyderabad’s IT hub, close to Gachibowli and the Financial District. The area is packed with tech offices and fast-growing residential communities, and it has a huge young audience that loves premium big-screen experiences.
A 12-screen multiplex with IMAX in this location makes perfect sense. It will be one of the biggest multiplexes in the area.
Aparna Cinemas Expands
Aparna Cinemas already runs a popular multiplex at Nallagandla in Hyderabad. The new Wipro Circle property will be a much bigger step for the brand.
Hyderabad’s IMAX Comeback
Hyderabad has gone without a licensed IMAX screen for over a decade, ever since the old Prasads IMAX lost its IMAX format.
Now, two IMAX screens are in the works. The AMB Victory multiplex at RTC X Roads, in the old Sudarshan theatre, is set to bring IMAX with Laser to the city. Aparna Cinemas’ Wipro Circle project will add another one in the western part of the city.
For a city that makes some of India’s biggest films, from Baahubali and RRR to Kalki 2898 AD and Pushpa 2, having multiple IMAX screens is long overdue.
Opening Date
Aparna Cinemas hasn’t announced an opening date or the exact IMAX format for the Wipro Circle multiplex yet. More details are expected as the project moves ahead.
