The OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video is following the YouTube style and will be introducing commercials in their shows and movies from 2024. There will be 4 minutes of Ads for 1 hour, according to the reports. The current users of the Prime are in a bit of shock with this latest news.

On Friday, Amazon announced that ads will be integrated into its Prime Video streaming service next year. Customers in the US, UK, Canada, and Germany will start the rollout in early 2024, followed by France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Australia, India later in the year. A report from The Wall Street Journal in June indicated that the retail giant had been considering ways to introduce ads to its platform.

Amazon says Prime Video will have limited commercials, noting that there will be “meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers.” Nonetheless, viewers who seek an ad-free experience, will have the option to pay $3 per month, and there will be a no-ads option for other countries at a later time.
