Before Agent, Surender Reddy and Allu Arjun planned to reunite for a film. This would have been their second project after the hugely successful Racegurram that was released back in 2014. The debacle of Agent has now pushed all these plans away and has also created a huge dent in Surender Reddy’s image.
The Icon star is in no mood to risk his ever-growing pan-India image. He’s at a golden run at the box office with Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (2020) and Pushpa (2021) both striking gold at the box office. There’s a massive buzz for Pushpa 2 and there are great chances of Allu Arjun striking a golden hat-trick. Apart from this, the Icon Star has already locked his lineup for the next 4-5 years and there is no chance for Surendar Reddy’s film in the current scenario especially after Agent.
Surender Reddy, just like other directors will have to assess the situation and look for a medium-budget film to prove his capability to sustain.
Allu Arjun, meanwhile is busy with Pushpa 2 shoot and the recently released teaser has created huge expectations for this Sukumar project. The duo is looking to cash on the prequel’s brand and is making the movie more relatable and appealing to the northern audience.
