Akkineni family is one of the top most reputed families in the Telugu Film Industry. Akkineni Nageshwar Rao is considered as a legendary actor alongside with Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. After ANR, Nagarjuna continued his legacy and became a successful star. Nagarjuna’s sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil have also entered into the films and trying to make their own mark. However, the Akkineni heroes are not having good days as their movies turning up as failures continuously.
Nagarjuna’s last film Ghost was a massive failure, and Naga Chaitanya’s both latest film Custody and previous film Thank You were colossal disasters. Coming to Akhil, this young hero has not delivered a.proper hit today in his 6 year career except for MEB, which was ended as an above average at the box office. Akhil’s latest film Agent became one of the biggest disasters of the Telugu Film Industry.
If we observe the career of Akkineni heroes,romantic entertainers have always been their strength, but they came out of this and tried with some other genres such as action thrillers, which are misfiring and the movies are faring terribly. The last three films of these heroes like The Ghost, Agent, and Custody have been made as an action entertainers. These films have not only bombed at the box office, but they also failed to get decent openings on the first day.
Akkineni Heroes should understand what audiences are expecting from them and should focus on that. Naga Chaitanya’s all big hit films are romantic entertainers and Akhil has a very good following among youth girls, but he is not doing love stories, which are the right kind of films for the youth audience. Moreover, Nagarjuna is not doing the family entertainers these days. All the three heroes are doing serious films which are not being liked by the audience. Therefore the films are not even getting the decent openings.
