Akhil Akkineni’s Agent was supposed to release as a pan-Indian film on 28 April. However, the Hindi release plan is said to be canceled and there was no Hindi promotional material from the team in the recent days. The Agent team had a chitchat with the media recently where they clarified the reason for not releasing the movie in Hindi.

“Agent’s 28 April release plan is an excellent release date in the Telugu states. But in Hindi, it’s not all that appeasing. There’s a Salman Khan film releasing the previous weekend. So, we decided against the Hindi release on 28 April” Akhil said.

Akhil said how difficult it is to finalize a single optimal release date for a film in universal languages. He also said the film will be released in the Malayalam language on April 28, resulting in a multilingual release. Director Surender Reddy also revealed that he was hospitalized for COVID-19 while filming Agent in Budapest.
