Boring Summer for Tollywood audience

Summer and Sankranti are two of the most eagerly awaited periods for the Tollywood audience. During this period, several biggies are lined up for simultaneous releases. The festive season allows audiences free time, which is when filmmakers look to strike gold at the box office.

This year’s Sankranti was a prime example of the same. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy were released within a day’s gap for Sankranti. Both movies were successful at the box office and the Tollywood audience thronged to the theatres with high expectations from this Chiru- Balayya clash. While Waltair Veerayya reigned supreme with a blockbuster verdict, Veera Simha Reddy also didn’t disappoint and registered a hit status.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the summer which is going to be a dull one with no big release. All tier-1 heroes are busy with shooting at the moment and there won’t be any big releases from them. The movies which are lined up for release during summer have almost negligible hype. The audience will have to wait till June 16th when Prabhas’ Adipurush will releasing. Till then, they would have to play a wait and watch game.
