NTR’s Adhurs is the next in line of the re-releases in Tollywood. While the film is a favourite of film lovers for its comedy and NTR’s double role, the bookings of the film are not showing an encouraging sign. The recent re-releases are failing miserably with audience showing very little interest.
Normally for the top 6 heroes of Tollywood- Mahesh, Pawan, NTR, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Prabhas, re-releases will perform well for at least the special morning shows in some famous theatres. Re-releases create many records in Hyderabad but that’s not the projection for Adhurs re-release. Even Shankar Dada MBBS which was a recent release had around 20L advance bookings but Adurs has just 8L worth advance bookings in Hyderabad. and is up for a re-release in theatres tomorrow. This tells how poor numbers are and the main reason for this is re-releasing the film without an occasion.
Simhadri 4K which was released on NTR’s birthday posted excellent numbers in Hyderabad city and it had 50L advance bookings and collected 3.5Cr worldwide on rerelease. It appears that Adhurs may not even collect 10% of that. It can be said that even fans are not interested in re-releases without any occasion. The rerelease trend is slowly fading away and people should understand at least now and not lose the invested money.
