Director V. V. Vinayak has clarified that Adhurs 2 may not happen, contradicting earlier statements by writer Kona Venkat about the sequel.
Story Already Complete
Speaking candidly, Vinayak explained that the original film’s story is already complete and leaves no room for continuation. He added that forcing a sequel could fail to recreate the magic, and it’s better to leave Adhurs as a standalone hit.
Several reports about Adhurs 2 have surfaced in the past, especially from Kona Venkat. Earlier this year, Venkat revealed that the script is in development, with the first half already completed as of February 2026. He mentioned plans to narrate the full story to NTR once the actor finishes his ongoing projects and expressed interest in bringing Vinayak back to direct.
Adhurs Legacy
Released in 2010, Adhurs was a massive success. The action-comedy starred NTR in a dual role alongside Nayanthara and Sheela Kaur. Fans still celebrate NTR’s performances as Chari and Narsimha, along with Brahmanandam’s memorable comedy. The film featured music by Devi Sri Prasad.
While sequel discussions are common in Tollywood, directors often weigh creative risks carefully. Unlike projects where sequel plans are locked early, Vinayak’s stance suggests Adhurs 2 remains unlikely despite fan demand.
