Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, and Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, reportedly have been selected to act as the lead pair in the Tamil blockbuster Love Today’s remake. Although their casting rumors have been going on for some time, it was only recently that both were signed for this movie. Junaid and Khushi will play a seriously loving young couple in this peculiar romantic entertainer.
These young star kids will step into the shoes of Pradeep Ranganathan and Ivana from the original. The casting of other roles, originally played by Sathyaraj, Yogi Babu, and Raadhika Sarathkumar, is also underway and is expected to be finalized by next month. Director Advait Chandan who previously handled Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chaddha has been brought on board to direct this remake, and he has apparently already begun preparing for the production in July 2023.
Remakes may not have worked for Bollywood in recent times, but the fascination of Hindi makers for them does not seem to end, at least until the next year. At least half a dozen remakes of films from South India are currently being developed, including this one by Phantom Studios. The production banner announced the remake of last year’s Tamil blockbuster Love Today in February in association with its original producers, AGS Entertainment. Three months later, the makers have finalized the cast of this romantic comedy by getting Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor on board, and they are set to go on to the floors in the second half of this year.
The film will mark Junaid and Khushi’s second acting outing, following their debut films slated to release this year. While Junaid makes his acting debut with Yash Raj Films’ Siddharth P. Malhotra – directed thriller drama, Maharaja, Khushi debuts in Bollywood with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix adaptation of The Archies, alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda.
