Before the release of Liger, there were a lot of bold and rather overconfident statements made by the team of Liger. The main culprits of such rash statements were Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagan who sold big dreams to the distributors and exhibitors. Looking at the confidence of the team, many distributors blindly invested in the film hoping for massive returns.
One such distributor who invested a lot of money is Warangal Srinu. He bought the entire South India rights of the movie for a massive price and there are no surprises that he is under heavy losses after the release of Liger. After the disastrous box office run of the film, he lost a minimum of 50 crores.
Owing to this, he has demanded that Puri Jagan fairly compensate for these losses. Puri has started the compensation but the main issue is that Warangal Srinu is demanding more than 20 crores but Puri is only ready to give 7 crores. Srinu believes that he should receive 10 crores for Nizam alone. Adding the other regions like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Vizag, he has asked Puri to pay 20 crores.
The distributors in the other areas are also behind Warangal Srinu for the money and things have turned ugly. There is a big battle going on right now between the two and they are dealing with it in Puri Jagan’s office.
