The Telugu states’ collections of Rajinikanth’s Coolie were good in the initial weekend, but the film saw huge drops afterwards. The break-even figure stands at 50 Cr, with a recovery of 78%.

Nagarjuna’s Simon character’s reels and videos are viral on the internet, and this hype should help the film, as it needs a big 2nd weekend to be a profitable venture for all the involved parties.

Starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR as the leads, War 2, after a poor weekend, sees a massive drop in its collections on weekdays, and the film ends up with disastrous gross collections in its first week.

The film has collected 295 Cr gross worldwide, and the break-even or business valued number is at 700 Cr. The recovery is not even 50%, which says how disappointing the film’s box office performance is.

Sadly, the much-hyped War 2’s first week gross collections result in a disaster. This film is the second installment of War (2019), comes from director Ayan Mukerji, and boasts a big budget from Yash Raj Films. Hrithik Roshan and NTR lead the cast, with Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor in supporting roles.

‘War 2’ belongs to the YRF Spy Universe, a collection of spy action movies. It features other movies like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012), ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017), ‘War,’ ‘Pathaan’ (2023), and ‘Tiger 3’ (2023).

Naga Chaitanya Not Teaming Up with Koratala Siva

Director Koratala Siva scored a blockbuster with Devara, starring NTR. While the fans await the update/start of the sequel, there were some reports about the director’s other film. But the Naga Chaitanya–Koratala Siva collaboration rumors are not true, according to the hero’s team.

We clarify that these reports are not true, and no such project is currently in development. Any future collaboration will be officially announced through the appropriate channels. Even Koratala Siva’s close circles also said that his full focus is on writing the script of Devara 2 and pre-production works.

The film’s shoot will start early 2026, which means that Koratala Siva is not teaming up with Naga Chaitanya, and he is occupied for the next year with the sequel of Devara.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie has collected around 430 Cr gross worldwide in its 1st week at the box office. If not for the drop in weekdays, this film could have done much better. Coolie beats Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and enters the Top 6 of Kollywood Grossers.

Coolie Fails to Beat Leo’s 1st Week

Rajinikanth’s Coolie is struggling at the box office after a good first weekend. The film was expected to break the existing records, but it failed to live up to the expectations. Coolie fails to beat Leo’s 1st week collections.

Before the release of Coolie, Vijay’s Leo was holding the records of the 1st weekend and 1st week, and 2 Point O was holding the closing records for Kollywood. As said above, Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action drama was expected to break all records.

However, Rajinikanth’s Coolie failed to beat Leo’s 1st-week collections and did not live up to audiences’ expectations. The film opens with below-par WOM and reviews.

Still, with a 150Cr+ opening and a 380Cr+ weekend gross, the film sets new benchmarks for Kollywood. But after the weekend the film fails to maintain strong legs at the box office.

Leo’s 1st week gross stands at 466 Cr, whereas Coolie’s 1st week numbers will be around 430 Cr. Also, the film’s closing will fall under 2 Point O and Jailer, while Leo is likely to settle at 4th position. 

Even to settle at 4th position, Coolie, the film, needs to beat Ponniyin Selvan 1 (500 Cr), and a good second weekend is needed for it to do so.
