Yash has announced his next film, Toxic, as a global project, with plans to release an English version in theatres alongside the Indian versions. The character posters released in recent weeks created strong excitement among fans, and now the makers have unveiled the first glimpse of the film.
On the occasion of Yash’s birthday, the team released a video glimpse introducing his character, Raya. The teaser has a clear Hollywood-style feel, both visually and musically. It begins in a cemetery, where a group of gangsters are performing funeral rites. There is an element of suspense about whether the protagonist has arrived at the location.
Can Toxic Surprise Audiences?
Just as the stage is set for action, the hero appears in a car but does not step out. Instead, he shares an intimate moment with a woman while the gang outside fires bullets at the vehicle. Moments later, a series of explosions follow, and the hero finally enters the scene, ending the teaser with the powerful line, “Daddy’s home.”
After watching the Toxic teaser, it is clear that the makers are aiming to create a global film with a strong Hollywood-style presentation. This approach is certainly a big risk, as it is not guaranteed to connect with Indian audiences. At the same time, it remains to be seen whether international viewers will embrace it.
The team is hoping that both Indian and global audiences will respond positively, but the project is undoubtedly a high-risk venture. Hopefully, this bold attempt will pay off in a big way.
In addition to playing the lead role, Yash has also co-written the script along with Geetu Mohandas. The film features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria in key roles. Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is jointly produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, with music composed by Ravi Basrur.
