2023 1st quarter Tollywood Top 5 box office highlights

The first quarter of 2023 has been a great one for Tollywood with several hits and blockbusters lighting up the box office. The year started on a strong note at the box office with Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka continuing its terrific run into the new year and emerging as a massive hit. There were other movies as well that brought smiles to the faces of fans and trade circles. Here are the Tollywood top 5 films from the first quarter.

1. Veera Simha Reddy– Balakrishna continued his monumental success run with Veera Simha Reddy after Akhanda. The film was released to packed houses and registered terrific opening day and weekend numbers and created Balayya mania at Sankranti.
2. Waltair Veerayya– Topping the Tollywood top 5 movies of the year is Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya. The film indeed brought Boss back to form and emerged. as a massive blockbuster and Sankranti winner in the clash of Chiru and Balayya
3. Sir – Dhanush’s Sir was the surprise hit of the year at the Tollywood box office in the first quarter. This Venky Atluri film emerged as the highest-grosser of Dhanush’s career in Telugu states and placed him in the Tollywood top 5 of the first quarter.
4. Balagam– Venu Yeldandi’s sleeper hit Balagam won audience’s hearts and box-office game and is continuing its strong run at the box office and OTT. The film received great reviews and has created a strong impact as the small film of the year. The film has hit the Rs 20 crores mark and achieved terrific numbers in Nizam.
5. Dasara – Nani’s Dasara has created a massive impact at the Tollywood box office and has achieved record-breaking opening figures beating even Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy’s opening figures. The film’s weekend numbers are all set to take it even further and has given Nani a much-needed breakthrough.
