Devi Sri Prasad’s first film as a hero now has a release date. Yellamma will release worldwide on March 5, 2027, the slot that opened up after Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit moved to Diwali 2027.
The makers announced the date on Dussehra with a new title poster.
Yellamma Release Date
- Release: March 5, 2027
- Languages: Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada
Spirit’s Move Opens the Door
Spirit was earlier planned for March 5, 2027. With the film now officially moving to October 29, 2027, for Diwali, the early March window became free.
Dil Raju wasted no time and locked the date for Yellamma. With no big star film in that slot now, Yellamma gets a clean window to open in.
DSP Turns Hero
Yellamma is a special film for Devi Sri Prasad. The Pushpa composer, known as Rockstar DSP, is making his debut as a lead actor with this film. He is also composing the music.
DSP’s first look from the film was unveiled on his birthday earlier this year. Director Venu Yeldandi has said his very first discussion with DSP about the film went on for eight hours.
The Balagam Director’s Next
Yellamma is directed by Venu Yeldandi, who made a big impact with his debut film Balagam in 2023. The small, rooted family drama became a surprise hit and won wide praise for its emotional story set in rural Telangana.
Yellamma, named after the village goddess, is also expected to be rooted in Telangana culture. The fiery yellow and red title design, inspired by turmeric and kumkum, hints at a strong devotional and folk flavour.
A Big Film for Dil Raju
Yellamma is produced by Shirish and Harshith Reddy under Sri Venkateswara Creations, with Dil Raju presenting the film. It will release in five languages.
After a tough run at the box office recently, a strong performance from Yellamma would be a big boost for the banner.
