Warangal Srinu clarifies about the Liger financial issues

The ongoing buyer’s strike over Liger’s financial losses has again brought Nizam distributor Warangal Srinu and Puri Jagannadh to the forefront. Both have maintained a silence on the issue till now and Warangal Srinu has finally spoken out.

Srinu clarified that he bought the entire South India rights for 54Cr on an NRA basis and he sold the individual areas separately excluding Nizam which he released on his own and the movie as we all know brought a colossal loss. Srinu added that he was in constant touch with Puri even one week after the movie’s release. Things turned sour after the call recording leak which was done by some distributors frustrated with the loss. After the call recording leaks where distributors also decided to take legal action, Puri and Charmmee stopped being in touch with the trade circle.

Warangal Srinu also denied the rumours floating that it was he who instigated this strike against Puri. He explained that he is a big Puri Jagannadh fan and he himself is waiting for compensation from the director. The distributor questioned that in such a situation, how can he return the money to the exhibitors.

“I suffered losses because of Acharya’s failure as well but for Acharya I have got a refund even though it’s pretty small. But for Liger, the team is not responding to me at all. He also pointed out that the Liger team itself claimed the budget is 100Cr and they got 140Cr business with theatrical and non-theatricals. This means they are in very good profits but still, they are hesitant to compensate the amount.
