Actor Chiyaan Vikram received a lot of acclaim for his performance as Aditha Karikalan in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2. He is currently working on Thangalaan under the direction of PA Ranjith. There are some interesting rumors emerging about the film’s release date recently and if they are to be believed, Thangalaan’s team is planning to release the film on Sankranthi/Pongal 2024.
It is very well known to everyone that the lead actor of the film, Chiyaan Vikram had met with an accident during the filming of Thangalaan. After Vikram’s recovery, the shooting started again and now the movie unit is planning to release the film for Pongal/Sankranthi 2024.
Thangalaan also stars Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Pasupathy Masilamani in important roles, and the film has music scored by GV Prakash Kumar. Produced by KE Gnanavel’s Studio Green, Thangalaan is being made as a period film that explores the lives of individuals employed in the Kolar goldfields in the eighteenth century.
The film is carrying a massive buzz in Tamil audiences and the trade circles as well because of the director – actor combo and the backdrop. Needless to say, the film will be released in Telugu also. Chiyaan Vikram has gone into a completely different avatar for the film. Let’s hope that his hard work pays off and Thangalaan becomes a super successful venture for all the parties involved.
