Normally, the summer season is said to be the best season for the Telugu film industry, and it is considered as a big money spinner for the buyers and the movies which are released during the season will have an excellent run at the box office as well. Which is why all the big films or big star heroes films target the release dates in summer. However, this year’s summer for Tollywood was like a nightmare for the buyers as no big hits were present.
This summer [March – June] became a nightmare for buyers, with a big number of disasters at the box office. Nani’s Dasara, Sai Dharam Tej’s Virupaksha, Vijay Antony’s dubbing film Bichagadu 2, and the latest film Samajavaragamana are only a few successful films in the entire summer and the rest of the movies became failure and registered as disasters at the box office.
Prabhas’s most awaited film, Adipurush was released two weeks ago among a massive hype Pan India wide, but after receiving good collections at the box office for the first three days, the film succumbed to the negative talk and became one of the biggest disasters of Tollywood.
Samantha – Guna Sekhar’s Shaakuntalam, Akhil – Surender Reddy’s Agent, Gopi Chand’s Rama banam, Naga Chaitanya’s Custody, Raviteja’s Ravindra, Allari Naresh’s Ugram , Anni Manchi Sakunamuley, Mem famous, Kiran Abbavaram ‘s Meter and many more small films also became failures at the box office. Nikhil’s latest action thriller Spy is also on the verge of becoming a failure at the box office.
