It is very well known to everyone that Legendary director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1, which was released in September last year had become a blockbuster, and also it became an industry hit in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil film fraternity and audience embraced it as their pride. However, PS-1 could not show the same impact in the other languages.
As the first part had failed to perform in other markets and now the second part of Ponniyin Selvan is also carrying very low buzz in other markets. So, the film needs to get a tremendous response for its promotional content and the buzz should start from the trailer. The makers have announced that they will release the trailer on 29th March and the trailer length is said to be of 3 minutes 25 seconds. This trailer should work very well and bring the required buzz in all the other markets for the film.
Ponniyin Selvan, the two-part film franchise, is based on the epic novel Kalki by the same name. Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam has fulfilled his long-time dream by making this epic drama. The story of PS is about the civil war inside the Chola dynasty for the throne and the conspiracy by the Pandyas to avenge the Cholas, set around the 10th century.
Ponniyin Selvan 2’s ensemble cast comprises Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Mohan Ram, Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu and others. The technical team includes music by AR Rahman, DOP by Ravi Varman, editing by Sreekar Prasad and art direction by Thota Tharrani.
