DJ Tillu, which starred Siddhu Jonnalagadda in the lead role and also for he worked as a writer, was released in February this year and turned into a big blockbuster.
Directed by Vimal Krishna and produced by Suryadevara NagaVamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments, the film grossed massive collections at the box office and grew into a blockbuster hit in small films. They made the movie on a low budget, but its worldwide collection swelled to 50 crores and surprised the trade circles.
The sequel to the film has been planned, keeping in mind the craze for DJ Tillu’s film. In the first part itself, the film team, which gave the lead to the sequel in the ending, set up the sequel as ‘Tillu Square’.
However, Controversies appeared around the sequel even without the film taking off. First, they changed the director for this sequel, Vimal Krishna was replaced by Mallik Ram.
Heroine Neha Shetty was also changed along and they roped Anupama Parameswaran in as the heroine in her place.
Sadly, she was out of the project soon as the shoot commenced. Instead of stating that she is quitting the project, Anupama posted that ‘every exit is for another entry’ and clarified that she has opted out of ‘Tillu 2’.
After that, they reported that ‘Premam’ Madonna Sebastian has been finalized in his place for the heroine’s role in DJ Tillu Sequel. Madonna, who has been trying to stand as a heroine in Telugu for a long time, thought it was a wonderful opportunity. But now it appears that the DJ Tillu unit changed their mind and Madonna has also walked out of the movie.
The latest reports have at it that the makers are planning to rope in ‘Hit 2’ fame Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead in Madonna’s place and are in talks with her for the same.
The inside talk is that there is a strong reason for each heroine to leave DJ Tillu Sequel. Inside reports suggest that the heroine’s character in Tillu 2 is not given any importance, and the film is heavily based on hero Siddhu Jonnalagadda and that’s why all the actresses are walking out of the project.
