Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story has opened to great numbers and is showing a solid spike in collections with every succeeding day. The film has received divided opinions from all quarters. While some are calling it a propaganda cinema, others are terming it a reality of our nation.
The Kerala Story has been banned in states like West Bengal while Tamil Nadu Multiplex Association has also boycotted the film. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh states have declared the movie tax-free. Amidst all this controversy, the movie collected a net of 8 Crores on its day 1 at the Box Office. which is a big achievement considering its budget.
With the film doing phenomenally well at the theatres, the OTT release has been decided to be scheduled after 50 days. The film will premiere on Zee 5 in July 1st week and the makers want to ensure it gets a proper reception theatrically before going for digital release.
