Naga Chaitanya starrer Thandel is gearing up for release on 7th February worldwide. There are high expectations on the film from both fans and audiences. In normal cases, most of the Producers try to play a safe game, selling the film to other parties and placing themselves in a comfortable situation before the release. But here with Thandel, the makers are taking a big risk by releasing the film on their own taking just advances from the Distributors.
Thandel also has a budget of nearly 100 crores, half of which has been recovered from the non-theatricals already. The film also has a good craze and offers from buyers for the rights on an outright basis. But the makers went straight ahead with no deals. They have to bear the risk theatrically. The Telugu version business is currently valued at around 40 crores. So, the film needs to achieve a minimum of 40 crores share from Telugu.
Some contribution also needed from other languages especially in Hindi. In detail, The film has to collect a 100 crore gross worldwide from all languages to remain a safe venture. Going by the confidence being shown by the makers, they believe it could do much more than that mark.
