After scoring a super hit film for this year’s Pongal with Thunivu, Aith was expected to work with Vignesh Shivan but the project did not materialise due to the differences regrading the script. After that, there was no official announcement About AK 62, which made fans worried, and they were eagerly waiting for an update about the film.
Finally, the update of Thala Ajith’s new film will be coming on the occasion of his birthday [1st May]. The director of the film is said to be Magizh Thirumeni and Lyca Productions banner is bankrolling it. The Title and cast announcement is expected to be made along with a first look poster tonight or tomorrow morning as Ajith’s birthday special.
Magizh Thirumeni has directed successful action thrillers like Thadam, Kalaga Thalaivan and has created a separate identity for himself when it comes to this genre.
Ajith’s last film, Thunivu was a super hit at the box office. Released for Pongal, Thunivu received direct competition from Vijay’s Varisu. While both the movies received mixed reviews, the star power of both Vijay and Ajith managed to get their respective films to the solid box office performance.
The action entertainer co-starring Samuthirakani and Manju Warrior was headlined by Ajith’s amazing screen presence and pacy narration by H Vinoth. These factors managed to get the audience attention. After Thunivu, news emerged about the combination of Ajith and Vignesh Shivan but the combo couldn’t materialise and the director faced an abrupt exit from the film.
Vignesh Shivan had revealed the reasons behind his exit and said that the second half of the film didn’t satisfy the producer, which led to various creative differences.
