Tirupur M. Subramaniam, the owner of multiplexes association, has resigned from the position of president of the Tamil Nadu Theatre and Multiplex Owners Association due to personal commitments. In his resignation letter, Subramaniam, who is also the owner of Sri Sakthi Cinemas, expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him while he served as the association’s head.

He caused a social media debate by arranging six early morning screenings of Salman Khan’s Hindi film ‘Tiger 3’ on Diwali day.
The Tamil film fans were angered by this and questioned whether Tirupur Subramaniam’s theater had been granted special authorization by the Tamil Nadu government. Later, it was made clear that there was no special permission granted to Tirupur Subramaniam’s theater, finally it led to his resignment.
