Tamil Nadu theater owners are going through a tough period because of the disastrous turnaround of the audiences to the theaters. This Diwali, the Tamil film industry saw the clash of two films, Karthi’s Japan and Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda Double X . Sadly, both the movies failed to generate proper revenue for the exhibitors. As a result, Tamil Nadu theater owners are going through a tough period.
While Karthi’s Japan movie failed miserably at the box office and became a big disaster, Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda Double X, starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, failed to get big numbers despite receiving positive word of mouth, and it is not running as expected.
So the theatres are suffering to function as the audiences are not showing at the minimal numbers. The Exhibitors of TN are currently facing the most challenging phase.
“It looks like pandemic days, A very dry November, and also December looks very dull except for Salaar’s release,” an exhibitor in Tamil Nadu said. “The Audience count is like
17, 19, 25, 35 Max… This is the Harsh Reality in most of the centers,” stated another theater owner.
Let’s hope the upcoming big films like Salaar, Captain Miller, and Lal Salaam will bring profits to the theater owners of Tamil Nadu.
