It’s finally official. Music director Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran are getting married, and the first wedding invitations are now going out.
Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. They personally invited him to their daughter Kavya Maran’s wedding reception.
Reception Date Confirmed
The wedding reception of Kavya Maran and Anirudh Ravichander will be held in Chennai on November 21.
This is the first official word on the wedding from the Maran family, and it ends more than a year of speculation about the couple.
Invitations Begin With Telangana CM
Kalanithi Maran personally handing over the invitation to the Telangana Chief Minister shows the scale of the celebration. The reception is expected to be a grand event, with top names from cinema, politics, cricket and business likely to attend.
The Hyderabad link is a strong one. Kavya Maran is the CEO of the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad and is a well-known face in the city.
From Rumours to Reality
Talk about Anirudh and Kavya’s relationship has been around for a long time. In June 2025, Anirudh laughed off marriage reports on X, writing, “Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys, pls stop spreading rumours.”
Earlier this year, his uncle, actor Y Gee Mahendra, said in an interview, “Based on what I’ve been told, it’s a sure thing. They are getting married.” Now the Maran family has made it official.
A Big Month for Anirudh
The wedding news comes at the peak of Anirudh’s career. His music for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, is getting big praise, and the film is running to record numbers at the box office.
He is also set to compose music for Sukumar and Ram Charan’s RC17.
