Simbu’s Maanaadu was one of the biggest hits of Kollywood in 2021. This science-fiction thriller impressed critics as well as the audience and created records at the box office. Seeing the massive response that the movie received in Kollywood, Suresh Productions has acquired the remake rights of the film.
The movie received record openings which were the best of Simbu’s career. Along with it, it cakewalked towards its breakeven mark and ended up as one of the biggest success stories of 2021.
Suresh Productions has acquired the remake rights of Maanaadu for all the Indian languages. Along with this, they have also acquired theatrical dubbing rights for the movie in Telugu.
Venkat Prabhu has directed this sci-fi action thriller and it features Simbu, SJ Surya, and Kalyani Priyadarshan in key roles. The movie revolves around a common man and a police officer. Both of them find themselves in a time loop and relive the same moments of the day again and again.
The success of the film was a huge relief not just for Simbu, but director Venkat Prabhu as well whose last few films failed to strike big at the box office.
Maanaadu was appreciated for its unique concept and simple presentation of a complex plot. The movie is already streaming in Tamil on Sony Liv.
