The club of star’s re-releases has got a new entry. Superstar Krishna’s 1986 blockbuster Simhasanam will now be re-released for his birthday next year. What’s special is that the film will release with a never-before technology i.e. 8k version. As per sources, the process of restoration to 8K has already started and the film will be released in Dolby sound.
Incidentally, Simhasaanam was Superstar Krishna’s debut directorial project and he also wrote, edited and produced it. The fantasy action film was the first 70 mm 4 track Stereophonic sound movie in Telugu cinema.
Simhasanam also starred Jaya Prada, Radha, and Mandakini and was simultaneously released in Hindi in 1986.
This trend of screening fan favourites is indeed a great one and is surely giving an experience that many fans who missed watching these films during their initial screenings.
After Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri and Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Gharana Mogudu and Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa were screened in a grand manner for the star’s birthdays. There are also plans of re-releasing Prabhas’ Billa and Chatrapati for his birthday.
