Superstar Krishna Sir passed away due to health issues

Superstar Krishna passed away today, November 15, at the age of 79. He breathed his last at around 4 am. The untimely demise of Krishna left the entire Telugu film industry in shock. Social media is filled with condolences to Hero Mahesh Babu, Krishna’s son, and the entire family.

On November 14, Krishna suffered a massive cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state. He was revived after 20 minutes of CPR.

Superstar Krishna was admitted to Continental Hospital on November 14 at around 2 am. He suffered a massive cardiac arrest. After that, multiple Doctors were put on to take care of him, and they gave regular updates about health.

The legendary actor passed away today, leaving all the loved ones. The entire Telugu film industry is mourning the loss of Superstar Krishna. More details regarding the funeral and the last rites are expected to be announced soon.

Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy alias Krishna was born to Ghattamaneni Raghavayya Chowdary and Nagaratnamma on May 31, 1943. Popularly known as Krishna, he was hailed as the Superstar of Telugu Cinema. In a career of five decades, he acted in over 350 films.

Krishna was married to Indira Devi and later to Vijaya Nirmala. While Vijaya Nirmala passed away in 2019, Indira breathed her last in September, 2022. He is father to five children; Ramesh Babu, Mahesh Babu, Padmavathi, Manjula and Priyadarshini. Ramesh Babu passed away in January 2022.

He began his career with a brief role in Kula Gothralu in 1961. He continued to appear in supporting roles for the next couple of years. It was in 1965 that he made his debut as the lead actor in Thene Manasulu. Two years later, Sakshi gave him the much-needed boost and the film won critical acclaim at the Tashkent Film Festival.

His film, Pandanti Kapuram, won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in 1972. Some of his best films include Alluri Seetharama Raju, Simhasanam, Gudachari 116, James Bond 777, Mugguru Kodukulu and Anna Thammudu, among others.

Apart from films, Krishna also was into politics and left it in 2012. Krishna was one of the highest-paid actors during his time. We pray that his soul rests in peace.
