Stop PRO’s Culture – Producers Council

Lately a gossip website was in news of accusing Vijay Devarakonda wrongly about his charity works. Vijay responded strongly with a video countering all the points stated in the article. His video got support from stalwarts like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna, the production houses etc.

Producer’s Council also released a pressnote in support of Vijay and even went to an extent that the website blackmails producers for publicity and ratings. PRO’s who are the bridge between the film and media play an important role in the film’s publicity. PRO’s even engage in cash dealings to get ratings from certain websites. The producer council is discussing to completely curb this PRO culture and introduce a team from the council who will act as that bridge between the media and the film.

Producers council think this is a good idea, as it puts all films on equal footing with no bias, but PRO’s seem to be complaining as that would mean they lose jobs. They even state that, they are not paid fully even after the film releases. And, every film will need selective marketing based on genre and content which cannot be handled by one team from producers council. The heroes share a good rapport with their PRO which might be hard to establish with a different team. Should wait and see what the Producers Council would do after a brief discussion.
