Skanda OTT’s response is very huge and more than expected. The movie was streaming on Dsiney Hotstar yesterday within no time it’s trending at first position. The movie is said to have created a record viewership for 24 hours in Disney.
when the combination was announced there was a huge buzz around the film. The promotional content failed to match the hype and postponing the release date affected the film in a big way. Due to distributors’ pressure did this even though they were not happy with the postponement.
The movie was released on 28th September with mixed and below-par reviews due to this the film did not work at the box office in a big way. The movie theatricals are sold at 50Cr and the film ended up with 30cr share around, buyers face big losses.
The WOM affected the film and the audience did not turn huge for the film and they waited for its digital release. Once it started streaming on OTT it became the first choice for Telugu audiences and even for other languages audiences. The anticipation of the film helps to get a solid response on OTT.
The movie is receiving mixed responses in the OTT stream also. One section of people liking the film and another section of people troll the movie scenes. The theatre response is also the same Boyapati designed a few scenes and shots very well and goes overboard for a few scenes.
But for Disney Hotstar the movie is working well as they bought the film’s rights for very huge amounts. Boypati screenu’s films work well in satellite and digital, This is the reason the producers are ready to put massive budgets for his films. Non non-theatrical business is even bigger than the theatrical business for Boyapati Sreenu’s films now.
