Sivakarthikeyan’s previous film ‘Prince’, which was directed by Anudeep, was released in theaters for last Diwali. But the film didn’t work well as supposed, and it turned out as a box office failure. Now the news is that Sivakarthikeyan has compensated for ‘Prince’ loss and gave Rs 3 crores to distributors.
‘Prince’ has reportedly earned a loss of Rs 12 crores for the film’s distributor. So, Sivakarthikeyan and the makers have come supporting the distributor as they receive 50% of the film’s loss. Sivakarthikeyan and the producers have reportedly returned Rs 3 crores each for the distributor to help him survive the loss formed because of the film’s result.
Sivakarthikeyan accepting the loss and paying compensation to the distributor has drawn praise from the fans and public, as the actor has set an example again with his kind nature.
‘Prince’ has reportedly collected Rs 30 crores at the box office, which led to it failing to take even half of the collections of Sivakarthikeyan’s previous films ‘Don’ and ‘Doctor’, which have grossed more than Rs 100 crores worldwide. His fans were expecting him to score hat rick with this film, but their hopes didn’t go real.
Prince was released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu and the film is about an Indian youngster who is a school teacher falls in love with a British girl who comes to work in the same school.
Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka played the leading lady, while Sathyaraj and Premgi Amaren played crucial roles in this film. Thaman S scored the music, and his songs were the only plus point of the film.
Sivakarthikeyan is getting ready with his upcoming film ‘Maaveeran’ with the National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin, and the film is moving fast to arrive in theaters this March. Reported to be an action thriller, Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist, while Aditi Shankar plays the female lead.
