Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s much-awaited film Shehzada finally hit the theatres on February 17. Shehzada is an official remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo directed by Trivikram released on Friday and the film opened to disastrous opening and below-par reviews. This is Kartik’s second mass entertainer after the massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which collected a terrific number on its opening day last year. The response to Shehzada though has been quite underwhelming. As per the early estimates reports, Shehzada is reportedly known to have minted anywhere around 6.50 crore to 7.25 crore at the box office.
The movie was initially supposed to release on February 10, but the release was pushed back to the 17th, which may be the reason for its low opening day numbers. . It’s always very risky to remake a Trivikram film because Trivikram’s films have a certain flavour that attracts the audience. His execution and narration of even simple subjects are what make Trivikram unique.
Repeating the same magic is a hurricane task. The storylines of Trivikram are always simple but he makes them strong with his dialogues and taking. Shehzada has once again proved that while you can remake Trivikram’s story, you certainly can’t repeat the impact
