Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey has now been postponed from its original release date of 31st December. A remake of Nani starrer 2019 film by the same name, this Bollywood film has been one of the most awaited films of the year. The rising Omicron cases and restrictions imposed by various governments are being cited as the reason for this postponement.

The makers of Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey released a statement earlier today announcing this decision. However, a new date was not mentioned in the statement.

In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! The actor first worked in ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake ‘Kabir Singh’ which became a blockbuster and the highest grosser of his career. Now he is reprising the role of Nani in the remake of the 2019 superhit classic ‘Jersey’.

Mrunal Thakur is co-starring opposite Shahid while his father Pankaj Kapoor will play a key role in this sports drama.
