Shaakuntalam, director Gunasekhar’s much-awaited mythological epic featuring Samantha in the titular role, has been released worldwide theaters today. Let’s see how is the talk and response for this film from the early shows and US premieres.
The talk from the early shows is not at all good. The film has been made with poor VFX and the audience who have watched the film are saying that don’t know why the team has opted for a 3D release with this kind of VFX. The movie’s narration also moves at a very slow pace and the audience is unable to engage or connect with the scenes.
Also, the war scenes are said to be the biggest minus for the film and the emotions part also has not worked. Overall, the FDFS audience talk for Shaakuntalam is that the film offers nothing new or exciting except for a few scenes. Samantha’s performance and Allu Arha’s performance are the plus points of the film. Overall, the film has received a very disappointing response from the audience.
Made on a massive budget, Shaakuntalam is based on the internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shaakuntalam’ and the film is released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The film, which will also release in 3D, is presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations together with Gunaa Team works and produced by Neelima Guna.
Gunasekhar directed Samantha’s Shaakuntalam. Dev Mohan played King Dushyant’s role in this flick, while Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha played Prince Bharata. Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, Madhoo, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananya Nagalla appeared in crucial roles. Mani Sharma composed the tunes for this film.
