The trailer launch of Samantha’s Shakuntalam was an eventful one and and saw the presence of the entire cast and crew of the film. Samantha was seen alongside Dev Mohan, director Gunasekhar, and producer Dil Raju. They spoke to the media present at the event and shared their experiences on the movie.
Speaking about the film, director Gunasekhar said that the film has three heroes. “Dev Mohan is the story’s hero while Samantha is the film’s hero and Dil Raju is the hero behind the scenes.”
He credited Dil Raju for the movie’s output and said he was fortunate that Dil Raju came on board for this film and gave wings to his vision. Samantha, who is making her first public appearance in months became quite emotional at the venue and so did Gunasekhar.
Speaking at the event, the actress said, “I have been waiting for this day for quite some time and it took a lot of strength for her to come here.” She credited Gunasekhar for this output and said for the director, this is his life and that she is sure that the audience will give back that love to him and his dream
The mythological drama is based on Kalidasa’s Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The story revolves around an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant of Mahabharat. Shaakuntalam will be released in 3D in Telugu Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on February 17, 2023.
